Adam Ulrey's Montreal Expos Diary

September 8, 2002 - Game 143

Well if you need to stop a losing streak, the man that you call on is Bartolo Colon. He threw a four hit shutout over seven innings to lead the Expos past the Braves 7-0. The Expos bats also got going, getting 14 hits with Jose Vidro and Wilton Guerrero each getting three. Wilton's little brother Vladimir added two RBIs, along with Orlando Cabrera, to help get the Expos out of their hitting blues. The Expos have had a hard time beating the Braves, but seem to never be able to beat Tom Glavine, but they knocked him out after six innings. Colon now moves to 8-3 and his ERA now sits at 2.74. Joey Eischen lowered his ERA to a team leading 1.20 with another inning of shut out ball.
