Adam Ulrey's Montreal Expos Diary

September 6, 2002 - Game 141

Kevin Millwood threw a gem and the Braves smoked the Expos 5-0. Millwood was just plain awesome, throwing just 98 pitches in his 3 hit complete game outing. He struck out five and saw his record climb to 16-6, with a sparkling ERA of 3.06. He's pitching like he did back a few years ago when he looked like he would be the next great Braves starter.

The Braves pounded the Expos for 12 hits, with Millwood himself contributing two hits and two RBIs. Gary Sheffield, who missed almost four weeks, knocked in his 78th run on the year. Masato Yoshii didn't even make it out of the second inning, he was racked for seven hits and five runs in just 1 2/3 innings. Vladimir Guerrero had one of the three hits to give him 177 on the year. He leads the NL in hits. The bottom line is over the last two games the Expos have managed just one run and just 8 hits. You won't when many games hitting like that.
