Adam Ulrey's Montreal Expos Diary

September 4, 2002 - Game 139

The Expos again pounded the poor pitching of the Phillies, lighting them up for 8 runs and 13 hits, beating them 8-5. The 41-year old Andres Galarraga doesn't seem content on entertaining retirement, he doubled twice and drove in four runs to lead the Expos to their third win in a row.

The Phillies All-Star pitcher Vincente Padilla just didn't have it, he allowed nine hits and five runs in just five innings. Tony Armas Jr. had his best start since coming off of the DL going seven innings, giving up just five hits and three runs, winning his 9th game of the year. The following players all had two hits Jose Vidro, Vladimir Guerrero, Troy O'Leary and Orlando Cabrera. Joey Eischen came on in to get the last two outs to earn his second save of the year.
