Adam Ulrey's Montreal Expos Diary

September 2, 2002 - Game 137

It seems like all year long the answer to stopping a losing streak has been to turn to Tomo Ohka and Monday afternoon was no different. He pitched a complete game six hitter, leading the Expos past the Phillies 5-1. He gave up just the six hits and only one unearned run. He won his 13th game and lowered his ERA to 3.05. The Expos pounded out 10 hits and scored five runs behind the hitting of Jose Vidro, Brian Schneider and Orlando Cabrera who each had two hits on the day. It seems like all year long when the Expos needed a big start from one of their pitchers it has been Ohka coming through. The Expos are starting to show their youth and maybe playing like what everybody before the season thought they would. Frank Robinson has done a hell of job keeping this team around .500 for most of the year, but maybe it has finally caught up them.
