The Diamond Angle Expands

Yes, most of the talk in baseball has been about contraction, but here at The Diamond Angle website we are talking expansion. That's right, for our sophomore season we hope to avoid the jinx by adding three more writers to our featured writers section.

Long-time readers of TDA will recognize Paul Wysard. His name has graced our book reviews section for years, and in addition he has written a good number of the profiles for our Stars in Their Time feature. Paul spent 35 years teaching in Hawaii, the place where he was born, and, due to military commitments of Major League players during WWII, where he was introduced to the game.

Lou Parrotta is also a teacher, he covers high school social studies in Utica, New York. Is it because Utica is so close to Cooperstown, or is there something in the water? Lou is one of a number of baseball writers from that region. In addition to teaching and writing for The Diamond Angle, he is also a sports columnist for the Boonville Herald & Adirondack Tourist.

The newcomer is Robert Nishihara, a life-long Giants fan from the San Francisco Bay Area. He has delighted the readers of the webpage with his long articles on Japanese involvement in the bigs and the state of the Montreal Expos. He's a baseball fanatic, and the devotion he has to the game shines clearly in his writing.

In addition, our very own Baseball Crank is set to come off the DL. He came out of the gates fast last season, but due to reasons outside of his control, had to put the spikes on the shelf for a while. But with the new season, he's ready to go.

Not only do we have new writers here at The Diamond Angle, we also have a new section. Adam Ulrey has been following the fates of baseball's doomed team in his Montreal Expos Diary. It gives the scoop on a squad that most think will either vanish or move to DC.

Things are looking good here at thediamondangle.com, after all, 120,000+ visitors can't be wrong. We hope you enjoy TDA and the new season as much as we enjoy bringing it to you.
